Storage Solutions for Home: 7 Great Ideas
Having a large number of items in the house, especially in a small apartment, can be a problem for the owner and an interesting challenge for an interior designer. Based on professionals' examples, we share ideas for storage locations.
Shelving Around the Door Frame
Decorate the door opening with open shelves from floor to ceiling. Such shelving can hold books, dishes, boxes with papers, and other small items.

Bicycle as Part of the Decoration
A two-wheeled vehicle does not have to be hidden away during off-season on the balcony. Designers from EEDS made a bicycle a decorative element of the dining room wall by hanging it next to a mountain landscape.

Tip from INMYROOM: storing items at home is not always the best solution. For example, seasonal items like a bicycle, snowboard, or clothes can be stored at a warehouse with monthly payment. The service "Attic" will pick up your items in one click, store them at a warm and safe warehouse, and return everything at once or separately. It’s also very convenient during renovations or relocations.
Storage Unit Under the Bed
There is plenty of space in the podium under the sleeping area. Designers from the studio "Forma Doma" designed a mini-wardrobe under the mattress, which can be accessed comfortably thanks to an integrated lifting mechanism that raises the bed.

Furniture Integration
A winning choice if you really have a lot of items. Such storage system was planned in one of Tatiana B rimmer's projects: "In the bedroom, we created a large wardrobe with decorative niches that are illuminated in the evening. They also form part of the headboard".

Multi-level Lofts
To prevent wardrobes from taking up all the useful space, it's better to hang them under the ceiling. Multi-level design solves the storage issue not only for small but also large items.

Shelving with Work Area
The workspace can become a storage area if you place not just a separate table but a system of shelves with a countertop.

Suspended Console for Tires
Julia Chernova solved the eternal problem of car enthusiasts with seasonal tire storage. For placing tires on the balcony, she designed special welded consoles and mounted them on the wall.
