Guide: 10 Buildings in Living Coral Color
Every year, the company Pantone develops color standards for designers, and industry professionals eagerly await what Pantone will choose this time. Recently, it became known that the color of 2019 was declared to be "Living Coral" (Living Coral), a life-affirming variant of orange with golden undertones.
We have selected interesting architectural solutions in this color to inspire and align with the 2019 fashion trends. Our collection includes both historical buildings clearly not focused on chasing trends and modern houses where architects have not missed the choice of paint.
Buenos Aires
Casa Rosada — the official residence of the President of Argentina and one of the most symbolic buildings in the capital. This architectural monument combines French attics, Italian loggias, and windows designed by Aberga and Kiberg. And the right color!

Milan
Visiting Italy for historic buildings? You're missing out! Photographer and designer Giorgio Stefanoni reveals the beauty of modern architecture that people often overlook.

Venice
Another Italian city — and a completely different architectural history! Salmon, coral, powder, orange, red — the shades of buildings depend on the freshness of paint and the age of the facade.

On the island of Burano, which is also part of Venice, you can see more of a contrast explosion than a play of tones. Maybe they just do cosmetic repairs more often there?

Ponta Delgada
In Portugal, we found two coral-colored houses. The first one is located on the Azores Islands and was built by studio Mezzo Atelier in 2016, with an area of 250 square meters.

Azeitao
The second one was built in a small village south of Lisbon by architects from Extrastudio on the site of a former winery. Take a look at the conceptual windows!

Banyuls-sur-Mer
This building is not only the color but also the form of coral. A quite symbolic choice for an oceanological observatory! And this year — also undoubtedly trendy.

Moscow
In the Russian capital, there are quite a few traditional mansions in coral color, but modern architects rarely choose this life-affirming shade. However, one of the towers on Khotynka Street was painted exactly in this color.

Calpe
To be strict, in this building, coral elements were used more as individual features. But we couldn't help but include this pink wonder from Spain in our list! Architect Ricardo Bofill built it back in 1973.

Barcelona
And here is another Spanish architect’s wonder — the residential complex Ulldecona 7. Indeed, he considered this period of his creativity unlucky. But the colors were chosen definitely well!

Beirut
This pavilion is a quiet oasis in the busy capital of Lebanon. It was designed by Natalie Harb specifically for the annual design exhibition. According to her idea, the coral color should calm visitors.
