Apartment in the Style of a Scandinavian Country House
This 62-square-meter two-room apartment in Gothenburg is located in a building from the 1930s and features a two-level layout. On the first floor are the living room and kitchen, and if you climb the stairs, you can reach the bedroom, passing through a small 'vestibule' — a study.

Exposed ceiling beams, a mansard half-level, granite and wooden window sills — what's not typical of a townhouse?
The apartment 'with character' was originally intended to follow provincial motifs in the interior design, so decorators and stylists at Alvhem makleri only had to develop this idea and decorate accordingly — in the style of a Scandinavian country house.

Because the apartment has a lot of ochre brick, the color palette was chosen based on it. For the kitchen, they selected wallpapers with a fine beige pattern and a light sage-toned cabinet: subtle green complements the reddish brickwork beautifully.
Cabinets for storage and a dining table made of aged light wood were also chosen to match the brick tone: in addition to successful color combinations, decorators took care of texture play.

The living room with exposed ceiling beams was softened with dark wallpapers featuring a dense pattern, bright furniture, and paintings on the walls. Not monochromatic photos that we're used to seeing in Scandinavian interiors, but still lifes, book illustrations, children's drawings — all colorful and heartfelt.

On the second level of the apartment, there is a storage cabinet, which also serves as a zoning element for the half-level — dividing it into a bedroom and a mini office. In the bedroom, open shelves were installed — they fit into the slanted wall structure, vintage bedside tables, and a ladder for the cabinet — almost antique.

A panel with a painting by Gustav Klimt appeared on the wall of the mini office — probably to set the mood for someone who decided to work from home not only on work but also on creativity.
