Vintage House in England with IKEA Furniture and Decor
Natalie and Dag moved to the countryside of West Sussex seven years ago, buying a small two-story house built in 1993 from a partially demolished 19th-century farm.

The couple liked the idea of living among calming old walls and items with history, so the concept of decorating the house with a vintage vibe emerged almost immediately. However, they were only able to start the renovation several years later with a limited budget.

To achieve the perfect interior and not spend too much money, they had to make serious compromises: seek unconventional solutions, regularly browse flea markets, and study Pinterest. However, the task turned out to be achievable.
For expensive oak planks with deep brushing, they found a great alternative—cheaper and more striking pine floors with a 'Victorian effect'.

Real window shutters, which the homeowner had always dreamed of, were replaced with decorative ones: Natalie found them at a flea market and placed them in the house as a decor element.
Other antique finds like coffee tables or fireplace logs were mixed with modern items to ensure that the vintage look didn’t appear outdated or forced, but only set the appropriate atmosphere.

Interestingly, in their search for ideas, the couple also visited IKEA. It turned out that furniture and decor from the Swedish mass market blend perfectly with rustic style and the aesthetic of country farmhouses.
Thus, from IKEA, Natalie and Dag brought in a wicker chair Stockholm, the soft sofa Ektorp, as well as lamps, vases, stools, and a lot of kitchenware.

The presence of items 'like everyone else' in such an exclusive project does not bother the owners. Despite every square meter here being meticulously planned, the overall look is neutral and very calm—Natalie and Dag don’t really want to live in an interior with a strong character and bold decisions. 'We have nervous professions,' they say. 'At home, we relax.'
