How a Swedish Blogger Decorated a Summer Cottage
Journalist and blogger Emma Sund — the owner of this summer cottage — truly looks like a girl from the past: she wears pristine white pin-up curls, wears caps and voluminous midi skirts and absolutely adores vintage style. This is exactly the case where both the interior and its author are remarkably alike.

Every summer, Emma spends time here with her husband and two small children on Gotland Island, and her passion for vintage aesthetics is evident in every item in this cottage.

The backdrop for the vintage decor is universal boarding, greenish retro-painted walls in some rooms and wooden floor planks. It’s not necessary to polish them too much: worn, creaking floors add even more charm and atmosphere to the interior.
In the attic room, wallpaper with old floral motifs was added — soft and feminine.

To enhance authenticity, furniture and decor were selected at flea markets. Some of the ideas are truly creative: for example, vintage suitcases instead of coffee tables, old enameled buckets as flower pots and kerosene lamps for decoration.

Special attention deserves the children's room. To instill a love for vintage items in children from an early age, Emma chose a colorful bed with high lattice sides, hung botanical prints from archives on the wall and added the setting with handmade rag toys.

Besides the atmospheric interior, there is a lot to admire outdoors: for example, a cozy garden, pink outdoor furniture that the owners love to arrange by lilac bushes, and even a retro bus used as a covered gazebo. Emma painted it pink — what can you do, this color suits blonde women!
