DIY: how to decorate a pumpkin in one hour
We got a bright idea from the Design Improvised website. We explain how to quickly and easily decorate a pumpkin using paper and scissors.
What you'll need?
- A pumpkin that should be pre-primered with acrylic primer and painted white with acrylic paint (available in specialty stores like Leonardo). Layers can be dried with a hair dryer.
- Colored self-adhesive paper
- Scissors
- Masking tape
- Paint and brush

Cut out geometric shapes from paper
Triangles, squares, and circles — the bigger the better. You can stick them on in any order or as shown in the image.

Attach the shapes to the pumpkin
Don't rush: to ensure the paper lies flat, smooth it with your finger.

Paint the pumpkin stem
Choose a vibrant shade matching your paper color. For example, orange. Pro tip: to avoid painting the pumpkin itself, tape around the stem with mounting tape.

Let the paint dry
In just a couple of hours, our pumpkin is ready. Happy Halloween! For those in a hurry — pro tip! To dry the paint quickly, use a hair dryer.
