Editor's Apartment from an Interior Magazine
An Australian designer and editor of a trendy magazine bought a two-bedroom apartment near Brisbane and decorated it in the style of her publication's interiors
Neutral decoration and a standard set of household appliances — the look of most typical apartments in the Brisbane suburbs, like Chelmer. This is what Loni Parker, a designer, founder and editor of an online magazine about interior design and decor, also ended up with.

An apartment with studio layout, one bedroom and a spacious balcony seemed to her dull and boring. Loni immediately set out to decorate the interior of her dream home. Especially since inspiration and ideas are not far away: you can draw them directly from the workplace, from her own magazine.

First, Loni replaced the lighting fixtures: minimalist glass pendant lights harmoniously continue any modern style and are especially great if the ceilings are high, as here. For a simple kitchen with neutral cabinetry, she chose a black faucet and bar stools in tone. When setting up the dining area, Loni stopped on Scandinavian classicism — Wishbone chairs by Hans J. Wegner.

White walls and floors — a perfect neutral background, a canvas on which anything can be 'painted'. To outline the new palette, Loni used three main colors — blue, pink and gold.

The owner hung bold paintings in shades of sea and sky on the walls, scattered pale blue cushions on the sofa, and painted the entrance door mint green. Look how beautifully it reflects on the glossy floor tiles.
A pink throw with large brushstrokes and a wall painting in tone add femininity to the neutral bedroom. Gold was reserved for accent color. It flickers in small details like furniture hardware and decor.

The apartment is simply swimming in plants, and the owner even set up her own mini greenhouse on the balcony. Loni, like many others who work with interiors, is convinced that greenery is like decor and fits in any setting.
