Cozy Cottage That Inspires You to Renovate Your Own Country House
This small cottage in Sweden was built just under a century ago — in 1921. A few years ago, its owners decided to renovate and restore it, yet they tried to preserve the vintage spirit and unique atmosphere of bygone times.
As a result, an incredibly cozy space was created, inviting relaxation and unhurried daily life. Here, past and present blend harmoniously — and after viewing these photos, you will surely want to do a renovation in your own country house cottage.

The basis of the color palette is white. It is carefully complemented (and sometimes accentuated) with beige, gray, and pastel tones, as well as natural warm-toned wood. Against this neutral bright background, indoor plants and paintings of lush greenery outside the windows look strikingly.

By the way, there are plenty of windows in the house: they not only allow you to enjoy nature to the fullest, but also fill the space with natural light, which is further enhanced by reflecting off white surfaces.
Notice: even the bathroom has a window! What do you think about the covered veranda offering almost full views of surrounding green beauty thanks to wall and roof glazing? Summer in Sweden is quite short and not always warm, so this solution is well-justified and appropriate.

For the sunniest days, there is a dining and tea area outdoors. There’s also a small lounge zone on the second-floor terrace where you can sunbathe, read a book, or simply take a nap in the fresh air.

The interior of the house is filled with vintage details: antique furniture, worn doors, clay planters, and a coffee table with a base from a Singer sewing machine... All of this coexists with modern trends: built-in appliances, stylish posters, a wall inscription on the veranda, and carefully planned lighting in the kitchen-dining room.

There are also design elements that are equally fitting in both ultra-modern and classic interiors: woven baskets, minimalist wooden furniture, natural textiles in calm, earthy tones.

And the cottage's look is completed by neat touches of classic style. Just take a look at the bathtub on legs; the wallpaper near the staircase, in the child's room and bathroom; the candelabras; and, of course, this bed in an alcove. These details give a seemingly simple interior a touch of sophistication and refinement. It looks cozy and harmonious, doesn’t it?
