Mistake in Drainage
During renovation, the location of plumbing is often changed. It's always important to consider system functionality.
For example, do not move the toilet more than two meters from the main sewer line — otherwise, a significant floor elevation may be required. For the pipeline to function properly, it must have a slope of at least 4 degrees.
The situation is simpler with the bathtub and sink: they use smaller diameter pipes, making it much easier to maintain the required slope.

Failed to Approve Reconfiguration
There are specific requirements for reconfiguring a bathroom. For example, the bathroom should not extend into living space or kitchen area.
Expanding the bathroom is only allowed at the expense of non-living space — corridor, storage room. Reconfiguration with violations will not be registered, and you'll have to restore everything to its original position.

Forgot About Waterproofing
Many people only think about waterproofing when neighbors below complain about leaks.
Remember to remind your contractor to include waterproofing during hidden works.

Cut Costs on Pipes
Nowadays, polypropylene pipes are used. This material is reliable, but it's important to install reinforced polypropylene pipes. If you save money and buy regular ones, there is a risk of accidents: regular polypropylene pipes deform under high temperatures.
Reinforced pipes are only slightly more expensive: two meters of regular pipe cost 30–50 rubles, while reinforced ones are in the range of 50–200 rubles.

Did Not Plan Ventilation
Wet air in bathrooms must always be vented out. Never block the ventilation outlet, and better yet, install an exhaust fan.
To ensure air intake, provide a 1 cm gap under the door. In airtight bathroom rooms, ventilation will not work properly.
