Design of Small Bathroom: 7 Ideas from Designers
We provide tips on how to make the most of bathrooms with an area of 2.5 square meters and create a modern interior
How do our designers decorate tiny bathrooms? We tell and show together with OBI experts.
Contrast Decoration
Contrast decoration is relevant even for small spaces. For example, in a bathroom with an area of 3.7 square meters, designer Julia Veselova decorated the walls with light beige ceramic granite and chose dark blue paint for contrast.
This technique allowed the designer to visually expand the space and zone it.

Accent Wall in the Shower
But thanks to light glossy tiles on the walls and a colored accent with an azulejo pattern, a bathroom with an area of 2.6 square meters does not look cramped at all.
Designers from the bureau "Total Area" were also able to fit a sink with storage and even a water heater in a small area, in the niche above the toilet installation.

Multiple Mirrors
To decorate her small apartment, designer Nadezhda Zотовa excluded such typical techniques as light decoration and lack of bright decor. However, she did use one standard approach — mirrors.
In a small bathroom, there are three mirrors: two above the sink and one above the toilet. They help create an illusion of a larger space.

Niche as Storage System
Integrated niches are a convenient solution. They can store towels, cosmetics and other accessories without losing square meters. Designer Valeria Belousova holds the same opinion. In her Stalin-era project, where the bathroom area is only 3 square meters, she made niches with glass shelves.

Shower Curtain for Zoning
Designer Anna Veretennikova used striking wallpapers with tropical patterns and unusual solutions. For example, a freestanding bathtub and a curtain that simultaneously zones the room and replaces curtains for the bathtub. As a result, a 4-meter bathroom in a Stalin-era apartment was transformed beyond recognition.
