How to Visually Expand a Small Bathroom
With OBI experts, we share how to arrange a tiny bathroom to make it visually more spacious and save space.
Don't worry that there's less storage space in the bathroom — the useful volume of these models is almost the same. However, due to the absence of legs and a base, the floor area appears larger, leaving more room for movement.

It's preferable to have wall-mounted sinks and toilets, which visually lighten the space and increase usable area.

Use More Mirrors
The largest visual expansion of a bathroom can be achieved with a mirror wall panel. A more modest but equally effective option is a cabinet with mirrored doors. It's convenient that you can also hide cosmetics and hygiene products behind the cabinet fronts.

Stay Away from Dark Tones
In a limited bathroom space, dark tones visually reduce the area. Light colors, on the other hand, expand it. It's not necessary to cover everything with white tiles; choose beige, light gray, and other neutral tones for ceramic or paint.

Hide Everything That's Possible
Don't leave cosmetic bottles and accessories visible — the bathroom will appear even smaller. Small items are better placed on the inner side of niches or cabinet doors.
Fill the space under the bathtub and sink with through shelves, sliding drawers, spacious containers, or baskets.
Design: Pavel AlexeevHow to Hide Pipes and Utilities?
Experts from the construction company 'Good' offer several solutions.
1. Install a Screen on the Bathtub. A skeleton base, made from wooden planks, metal profiles, or plastic L-shaped corner brackets, is needed. Secure the screen made of plastic or wooden panels to this frame to hide the utilities that connect to the bathtub and sink, especially if they are located nearby. If you build a small window into the frame, it's convenient to store household chemicals there.
2. Build a Drywall Box. This can cover pipes that are oriented either vertically or horizontally. You can make niches and shelves for frequently used items in such a structure. However, drywall must be clad with moisture-resistant materials like ceramic tiles or mosaics.
3. Cover with Doors. Sewer pipes behind the toilet can be hidden behind a drywall partition with a hatch, but it's more convenient to use plastic or wooden doors. Then you can add extra shelves inside for storage.

Add More Light
Even in a small bathroom, several lighting scenarios should be provided — general light, over the mirror, and above the bathtub. You can choose furniture with built-in lighting or install it separately. Another option is edge lighting on the wall and floor, which creates a floating effect.

Choose One Color for Finishing
Furniture in the color of paint or tiles won't stand out and will create a feeling of spaciousness. Moreover, this is an excellent way to make the bathroom brighter and more interesting if you choose a vibrant color for finishing.
