Umbrella-shaped plants
They won't be bright accents, but they will create a light invisible mist for the background. The favorite of this summer is the naked sow thistle, especially well combined with garden roses.

Ferns
Ferns — common oak fern, ostrich fern, cinnamon osmund, shield fern, fox grape — have been in fashion for several seasons in a row. This greenery looks very effect. They go well with rhododendrons, irises, astilbes and rogersias.

Decorative grasses and cereals
A winning option, they have won the hearts of European landscape architects and are actively conquering Russia. They decorate rockeries and alpine hills, are planted by ponds, frame flower beds and garden paths. They give the garden dynamics and rhythm.

Decorative apples
They are frost-resistant and low-maintenance. It's better if apple trees stand individually, but they also look great in groups. With the most vibrant flowering — the Royalty variety. Compact varieties for roofs and small gardens — Malus sargentii.

Flowers with verticals
The most vivid representative is the purple bellflower. An elegant tall flower will look great in a garden when combined with irises, roses and sage.

Living hedges
Decorative hedges are in fashion always — and this season is no exception. It doesn't matter what plants they consist of, the main thing is clear structure and form. Diagonals, cylinders, columns among the lawn or flower bed are especially relevant.
