Ceramic granite or regular backsplash tile? Mosaic or metal panels? We've collected options you'll love

We believe that a kitchen apron plays a decisive role in the kitchen interior: with its help, you can add brightness, make a proper accent, and transform a simple cabinet. We've gathered 14 stylish ideas for this area that you'd want to replicate.

Backsplash Tile

Sometimes the ideal apron is something as simple and organic as a regularly laid backsplash tile. A universal solution will fit almost any kitchen interior and won't cause problems in maintenance.

If you have a separate range hood, it makes sense to extend the apron up to the ceiling so that the wall is easier to clean. That's exactly what designers Sergey, Olesya, and Maxim Malitsky did in one of their projects.

Sheet Ceramic Granite with Natural Stone Pattern

Entire sheets with a beautiful natural stone pattern are often found in designer projects. This technique helps visually unite the space and suits kitchens of any size.

In one of her recent projects, Yena Zhdanova chose exactly this variant for a small kitchen corner — just 5 square meters.

Similar approach was used by the creators of the interior in a Stockholm apartment in dark tones. The kitchen apron is made from black sheet ceramic granite that complements the furniture of the same shade. The result is a monochromatic and captivating interior.

Decorative Brick

Often in designer projects, you can see a wall above the work surface with a decorative brick finish. Sometimes the apron is extended in height to the full wall if there are no overhead cabinets. Such decoration looks great in industrial interiors.

Due to the same color and glossy surface of the apron and cabinet fronts, a light and soft monochromatic kitchen interior was created.

Examples from Western colleagues can be found with prints that hide behind transparent glass panels, like this apron. By the way, tropical plant prints are a seasonal trend.

Tile in Scale Shape

Recently, a type of tile that even in simple white looks stylish and unusual — tile in scale shape — has come into designer projects.

Unusual shapes attract the eye, and the material retains its advantages: the coating is just as easy to clean as backsplash tile. Clearly, this apron idea deserves to be repeated.

Hexagonal Tile or Honeycomb Tile

Hexagons have firmly taken their place in design projects: they are used not only on the kitchen but also in bathrooms, hallways, and living rooms.

In the photo example below, the apron is made in one line, and the tiles had to be cut. Some designers leave the shape untouched: this solution creates an interesting wall and apron zoning.

Tile with Optical Effect

In this interior, the apron is practically the main decor element on the kitchen. The solution is right because a bright apron attracts attention: accessories might just get lost in its background. The layout of the four-sided tile in the apron creates a trendy 3D effect.
