Modern technologies make your life easier and your home more comfortable

Over the past thirty years, science and technology have made a tremendous breakthrough and fundamentally changed human life. How modern solutions simplify daily life was explained by Michael Egiyan.

Waterproofing

With the introduction of liquid rubber to the market, waterproofing an entire apartment has become simpler (now it can be done independently), and the application process is safe and effective. There is no longer a need to glue roll materials using gasoline soldering lamps or gas cylinders — simply apply several layers with a roller or brush.

Sound Insulation

Acoustic comfort is a matter of health and quality of life. Studies show that creating an acoustically comfortable environment increases productivity by up to 20%. Modern technologies now allow for thin yet affordable sound insulation — for example, the thickness of ROCKWOOL Acoustic Ultrathin sound-absorbing plates is only 27 mm.

A wall clad with Ultrathin Acoustic and two sheets of Gypsum Board (GKL) using ROCKWOOL Sealing Tape reduces penetrating noise by 55 dB — which meets the strictest acoustic requirements in Russia. This means that loud music, barking from a neighbor's dog, or crying children will no longer disturb you. These plates also have another important advantage: they are made from stone wool, an eco-friendly and non-combustible material that can safely be used even in children's rooms.

Parallel Water Supply

Water supply is now organized in parallel rather than sequentially, ensuring even distribution of water to all consumers. Filters for coarse and fine filtration, electronic water softeners are now widely used. Pressure reducers and expansion tanks protect plumbing from damage and leaks.

Leak detection systems also safeguard homes — yours and your neighbors’ — while allowing remote control of water supply via the internet.

Radiant Heating Distribution

Radiant heating distribution allows moving away from valves and thermostatic heads, enabling control of radiators directly from the plumbing cabinet.

When servo drives (mechanisms that open and close valves) are installed on the distribution manifold, and temperature sensors placed in each room, automatic control can be achieved with set parameters. Connecting servo drives enables remote climate control, significantly reducing heating costs.

Ventilation and Air Conditioning System

Increases comfort levels. With the addition of supply ventilation, humidification, and air ionization, it protects not only your furniture but also your health.

Modern Electrical Panel

It’s no longer enough to simply have a meter and fuses in an apartment. Modern electrical panels in apartments include many more electrical appliances, offering multiple levels of protection for residents and property. These include Residual Current Devices (RCDs), overcurrent protection, and load shedding relays for non-essential appliances.

Smart Home System

Controlling curtains and sliding systems from a remote control is gradually becoming part of our everyday lives. Intercoms and video surveillance are found in nearly every apartment. You can check what your child is doing or who’s at the door from anywhere in the world with internet access.

Academic television is reluctantly, but yielding ground to internet TV. There’s no longer a need to run television cables — they are replaced with internet cables or WiFi. Satellite dishes are no longer decorating facades and are being moved to dacha areas.

Motion sensors are one of the most pleasant innovations, allowing you not to hunt for a switch, especially at night when waking up is the last thing you want. By the way, the wide variety and availability of LED products also brings joy: now there’s no longer a need for a constant light fixture — just mount one LED in the ceiling. It not only illuminates your path but also never wakes you up!
