Absolutely Black Apartment in Sweden
Despite the common belief that black is dark and negative, a flat entirely decorated in shades of black in Stockholm looks strikingly stylish and very charismatic.

The bold color palette is actually a logical continuation of the black-and-white exterior of a 1903-built house where the apartment is located. Perhaps, there was no special need to align the inside with the outside if not for the balcony, which was originally decorated in line with the overall color scheme of the house.
As a result, the balcony was furnished with black outdoor furniture and now harmonizes equally well from both inside the apartment and from the street.

The designers who created this setting did allow the eyes to sometimes rest from the almost total absence of light. Of the 78 square meters of total apartment area, only the public zones – kitchen and living room, as well as the closet adjacent to the bedroom – were totally black.
However, graphite and dark gray shades are abundant in the other rooms. For example, the corridor is almost entirely white, with an expressive marble pattern on the floor, yet this space is also accented with black touches – black-and-white paintings and photos on the walls and a zebra-patterned sofa.

Due to the layout of the apartment, which is close to an atrium style, the walls and ceiling of the bedroom were made lighter than in public areas to make the room’s axis more expressive and easier to look at.
Finishes, furniture, lighting fixtures, and decor were carefully chosen for this interior. Yes, they are mostly black, but thanks to the variety of materials and textures, this color appears surprisingly different.
