Green Kitchen in Interior with Photos
What is the green color? It is nature, harmony of life, its birth, as well as freshness and naturalness
That is why a green kitchen provides a wonderful mood and energy in the house. This in turn contributes to increased appetite.
How to Decorate a Kitchen in Green Tones
When creating a design where the described shades will predominate, it is necessary to follow some rules. They will help you avoid mistakes and create a cozy space that delights the eye. Therefore, when decorating, remember:
- start with selecting household appliances and kitchen cabinet; only then can you purchase finishing materials;
- excessive use of bright color does not allow painting large surfaces in this color; accent colors should only be used for one wall to highlight it;
- when windows face south, use shades with a dominance of dark blue (for example, emerald or jade); if the room faces north, use green with a yellow tint: pear or marshy shades;
- any variants will suit a spacious kitchen, but for a small space prefer light tones only.

Green Color: Variety of Shades
There are many variations of this color, and differences between shades can be quite significant. Each has its own characteristics, which determines how the color is perceived. Among the most frequently encountered shades, it is necessary to note:
- emerald and malachite: these are deep shades that rarely color kitchen surfaces such as ceiling, walls or floor. These tones are often used for cabinet doors and accessories.
- olive and pistachio: soft tones that help create a cozy and calm atmosphere. These shades are used as main colors, and also suitable for stylistic directions where there is no place for bright accents or strong dynamics.
- green with a yellow tint: this color is usually used for kitchen cabinet doors and accessories, such as curtains or wall shelves. Do not strive for dominance of yellow: this will create some tension in the interior.

Dark Green Kitchen
Decorating a space in these tones is appropriate if the area is sufficiently large. For a small kitchen, dark shades are not suitable. But even in a spacious room, one should be cautious when working with shades to avoid overdoing it. The best option is the color of olives or moss, which is neutral in tone. Also pay attention to lighting: it should be sufficiently bright. Muted tones suit classical style or minimalism.

Light Green Kitchen
This is a good option for decorating a space in modern style. Light green shades suit small kitchens because visually they make the space appear larger. They look good on cabinet doors and also on tables or lamps painted in this color. The most popular is the olive shade.

Which Colors Go Well with Green
The described color will look most appropriate on a kitchen if it is skillfully combined with other shades. Which of them are most popular?

Combination with White
This is a fairly common option. In most cases, white is used as the base or background (ceiling, walls). In this case, green should be the cabinet doors and some decorative elements. For example, curtains and a kitchen apron. To add more clarity to the interior, black is sometimes added. With its help, attention is focused on some elements: for example, the countertop. But do not make the ceiling green; it is better to leave it white. This will visually expand the space. The same effect can be achieved with glossy cabinet doors and chrome hardware. It is also harmonious to have a green wall and white furniture.

Green with Red
This combination looks luxurious. Use red for cabinet and decorative elements – lighting, curtains. When choosing finishing material (e.g., ceramic tiles), focus on light green shades (an apple color will do). An impressive look is achieved with black cabinet doors combined with red kitchen tiles and green furniture.

Gray-Green Kitchen
The metallic color will look more natural if it is on household appliances. Also, gray-toned kitchenware will harmonize well with green. Another option is to use large surfaces: for example, a cutting board and sink made from stainless steel. In gray tones, one can keep the kitchen apron: if it also has a black-and-white 3D pattern, it will visually “open” the walls.

Salad Plus Brown
A classic combination. Brown can be the countertop, various small details: cutting boards, dishes, etc. One of the options for decoration is green cabinet furniture – meaning doors, white ceiling, brown appliances, floor (light shade), decorative elements and curtains.

Beige and Green
Beige belongs to calm tones, so green will contrast nicely with it. Use it to decorate cabinet doors. Walls can be beige. Add a darker floor and lighter ceiling – this will create a calm and cozy atmosphere

Black-Salad Kitchen
A kitchen where the salad color is the background can be diversified with black kitchenware and matching chairs with the dining table. It's better if these are wooden chairs – this will emphasize, for example, a classical style. Black appliances such as refrigerator and cooktop will also fit well into the interior: refrigerator, cooktop.

Countertop and Apron Shades
These objects do not have to be the same color. The countertop can be bright – for example, light and malachite green. In this case, the apron should be in calmer tones. And vice versa: an accent apron should be next to a less attention-grabbing countertop.

Wall and Floor Finishing Colors
It is important to choose such a color combination that highlights all the positives of the room and hides its flaws. Do not make a white ceiling and dark walls with the ceiling – this will look like a basement. It is better to decorate the walls in pastel shades, and make the floor slightly darker.

Rectangular and Corner Kitchens
The first option is cheaper, and a straight kitchen will suit any room configuration. If the space is small, buy a light green cabinet. Also recommended to buy a sink made from stainless steel and silver appliances: the combination of steel and green color gives a positive effect. Corner kitchens also have their advantages. First of all, they form a working triangle where everything is within reach. Such constructions are also recommended when the kitchen is open-plan.

Kitchen Styles in Green
The wide range of green shades allows using it in any design direction. But the best results are achieved in certain styles. Which ones?

Classic Interior
Cheap tones are not welcome here: everything should be done with restraint and calm. A general green background can be logically enhanced with brown wooden details: table and chairs. The apron is better made of white tiles with a green pattern.

Provence
This style involves using natural shades, which green is. It is better to use muted shades in combination with wooden furniture. A good addition will be a bleached ceiling and slightly darker floor. Cabinet doors should be green, and working surfaces white. For the apron, use bright terracotta tiles (the color of natural clay).
When choosing the described color for kitchen decoration, remember that the greatest effect such a design gives when the space is decorated only in cool or warm shades. This approach will make the room design complete and logical.
