Owners of urban apartments and country houses often think about the rational use of free space, so they install corner wardrobes

For spacious rooms, corner wardrobe rooms will be suitable, inside which all family members' things can be stored. As for small apartments, corner sliding wardrobes are often installed, thanks to which even complex architectural spaces can be filled.

Advantages and Features

A corner wardrobe in a room will have the following advantages:

  1. It is a wardrobe with many shelves, drawers and compartments for comfortable storage of items.

  2. Two walls will serve as back walls, thus allowing room owners to save significantly on materials.

  3. The central part of the corner wardrobe can be used as a changing area, so a full-length mirror should be installed there to make it comfortable for the room owners to dress.

  4. It can have any length, which allows closing the space between two room doors located at the ends of the room.

  5. Sliding doors or open storage systems can be used, creating a special atmosphere in the room.

Despite the obvious advantages, this type of construction also has some drawbacks. For example, the cost of such a space is only accessible to financially stable people. Other disadvantages include the method of fixing wardrobes to wall surfaces, which requires creating many holes for fastening elements.

Wardrobe Design

When choosing a corner placement of clothing, room owners should pay special attention to the design. The appearance of the construction will depend directly on the style in which the doors are decorated. Currently, the following materials are used in their production:

  1. Particle board (DSP) and Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF). These materials have affordable prices. Room owners can choose any colors and textures.
  2. Glass. Thick glass is usually used for doors, which has undergone special thermal treatment during production.
  3. Mirrors. This material is very popular because it visually expands room space. Mirrors can have various tones, contain patterns and other decorative elements on their surface.

Corner wardrobes, just like wardrobes, can be decorated with doors that have photographic prints. Modern door constructions can also combine several materials at once, for example, MDF or DSP facades with mirror or glass elements.

Where to Place a Wardrobe

A corner wardrobe can be placed not only in a bedroom. These wardrobes are also installed in children's rooms and hallways. The main condition for placing such a construction is the presence of an angle with suitable dimensions. To organize the room, it is necessary that there be at least 3 square meters of free space in the room. For such a construction, a storage area that is present in many standard apartments can be used. In this case, room owners will save money, as they only need to install shelves and drawers inside the storage area, and a beautiful modern facade in the door frame.

Solutions

A corner wardrobe can have any configuration. Many owners of urban apartments and country houses prefer built-in constructions, but some people order cabinet furniture. The main advantage of corner wardrobes, the photos of which can be viewed below, is the ability to make full use of all free space. With their help, even the most complex angle can be organized.

Today, the following types of corner wardrobes are offered to residents of living spaces:

  • g-shaped (the wardrobe will occupy not only the angle but also two adjacent walls);

  • diagonal, designed for small-sized rooms;

  • trapezoidal, which occupy slightly more space than diagonal constructions;

  • five-sided, designed for spacious rooms where all internal space can be used.

Useful Tips

Corner Wardrobe for a Closet

A corner wardrobe for a closet is a fairly compact construction:

  1. Usually, built-in wardrobes have only one independent vertical surface. The functions of the other two vertical surfaces are performed by the room walls. After installing a built-in wardrobe, the owner of an apartment or house will not be able to move the construction to another room. This is due to the fact that all components for such a wardrobe are selected individually according to precise dimensions.

  2. Corner wardrobes with a cabinet structure have independent wall panels and any dimensions, which allows them to be moved from room to room.

Sliding Constructions

Such constructions are ideal for large rooms. They provide enough free space that can be used as a dressing room. Any materials can be used for decorating a corner wardrobe, but the main decorative element is the doors.

Corner wardrobes are an ideal solution for rooms where there is no free space to place a separate wardrobe. These constructions take up minimal space, are spacious and functional. They can have any configuration, color scheme, and dimensions, and are manufactured by specialists according to individual sizes of clients.
