The surface facing the bed should be covered with bright wallpapers or have a printed image, for example, cartoon characters. The part of the partition located on the parent's territory should match the color of the other walls to maintain overall design consistency.
   
3. Shelves and wardrobes. Their use solves two problems at once: separating the space and providing storage space. The best option is open shelves, as they allow light to pass through. If the child is very young, ensure that this relatively lightweight furniture is securely fastened to the floor to prevent the child from knocking it over.
   
4. Room dividers. This is a popular method of zoning: if needed, the divider can be removed to restore the original look of the space.
   
5. Sliding doors. In this case, a partition must be built first and then the door frame installed in it. However, this option is acceptable only if there are two windows or glass doors in the room.

The main accent should be on the walls. Choose calm, pastel tones. In a small room, bright colors will make the interior look heavier. When the child grows up, you can return to your preferred shades. When choosing wall color, remember that it should be lighter than the furniture facades.

The next point is maintaining a consistent style. It should also be reflected in the kids area. It’s not necessary that the bed is designed in the same tones as the room’s finishing material. You can do the opposite and emphasize the kids’ sleeping area with a contrasting tone. Use other decor solutions for the kids corner:

• family photos on the wall;
  
• images with cartoon characters (posters, prints, etc.);

If there is one child and two parents, the task becomes simpler. There are several options for placing a kids bed depending on the child’s age:

• next to the parent’s bed: the best solution for a newborn;
  
• opposite the parents’ bed: the child will always be in sight;
  
• in the opposite corner: an option for a growing child.
  

When there are two children in the family, it is rational to buy a pull-out bed where one bed slides out from the other at the bottom. A bunk bed solution would work if the children are already tall enough. If there is only one parent, their bed takes up less space, thus freeing up area that can be used for arranging necessary furniture items.
