This masculine, unadorned setting would have been less impactful without the dark gray walls and bursts of blue.

A 49 square meter two-bedroom apartment in Stockholm's Ostermalm features a living room that smoothly transitions into a hallway, a bedroom with sliding doors, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

It's more than enough: the hallway includes thoughtful storage solutions, the kitchen, despite its compact size, accommodates a full L-shaped cabinet with all necessary appliances, and the living room easily fits two distinct zones – a dining area and a relaxation space. If home leisure gets boring, one can walk into the inner courtyard where there's a spacious patio.

The decorative concept, leaning toward an industrial style and color palette, was not chosen by chance: the interior of this apartment is inspired by the brutal beauty of the sea port of Fritshamnen, located nearby.

Blue tones in the living room and bedroom textiles are expressed volumetrically and expressively through a variety of textures: shimmering velvet and silk mixed with textured linen. The apartment features plenty of wood: oak flooring, a wardrobe in the bedroom with trendy leather handles, and a side table by the wall in the living room. Together with knitted planters and soft throws, this softens the harshness of the setting.

The only room in the apartment where the minimalist and rough design works on its own – the bathroom. The walls here are finished with tadelakt plaster, the floor features tiles with a subtle Moroccan pattern, and the stone sink complements the mixer with a cascading flow – all together it looks formal and stylish.

Looks like everything in this interior “came together.” Of course, it would be nice to add small touches of red to complement the patio, but one can do without it: the best enemy of good.
