Black and white apartment with blue kitchen in Sweden
In the portfolio of Wida interior, you hardly encounter bright walls and colorful decoration: in their projects, the team of interior stylists at this design studio prefers to use clean "uncolored" shades. The 36 square meter rental apartment in Stockholm is designed in the signature achromatic palette of decorators and brightened up with a splash of blue kitchen and greenery from plants.

The choice for white walls was made not only due to decorators' preferences: rather, it was a necessary measure. First of all, this color perfectly masks the inconvenient angular layout of the apartment. Secondly, white walls are optimal when the room has small windows and scarce natural light. Finally, white is an excellent canvas for any color; in this case, the deep blue tone of the kitchen stood out to the fullest on its background.

The decorative glass partition conditionally divides the space into a living room-dining area and bedroom. Of course, neither of these rooms with such zoning can be called fully functional, but the partition did not take away a single gram of light and gave rhythm to the space.

The well-tested compositional technique of contrast was used in the Wida interior apartment. Thus, a graphic element appeared in the framing of black and white frames, pairs of opposite-colored chairs Ton and coffee tables. Windows and a fireplace in the form of gentle arches were decorated similarly, emphasizing black window sills and the fireplace shelf with black.

Although the corridor has a small area that could be used as a mini-wardrobe, making it is not easy due to the arch. The storage problem seems to fall entirely on the shoulders of the tenants. But that’s not something that would surprise anyone: tastefully decorated rental housing is rare, and the lack of spacious wardrobes and well-thought-out storage systems in such cases is a typical story.
