It's time to admit: we don't know how to properly handle our belongings. How should you organize your storage system? Designer Valeria Shell shared her secrets.

1. Plan your storage system during the apartment design phase. Decide whether you need a walk-in closet, how many wardrobes you'll need, and where to place them.

2. Instead of numerous shelves and racks, choose spacious wardrobes – your items won't gather dust and will remain visible.

3. Use the space above the ceiling: it's convenient to store shoes in boxes and headwear.

4. Utilize niches and openings. In the storage room, you can hide brooms, vacuum cleaners, and ironing boards that ruin the perfect interior of your apartment.

5. Choose beds and sofas with storage compartments. Also, remember about suitcases – you can fold your shoes in them.

6. Buy vacuum-sealed bags – they are perfect for storing winter clothing.

7. Multi-level boxes, trays, and organizers – excellent solutions for storing accessories.

8. Hang hooks in the wardrobe or on the wall. You can hang jewelry and bags there.

11. Buy a floor-standing clothing hanger. If after work you don't feel like looking for space in the wardrobe, don't throw clothes on a chair – the hanger is an excellent helper.
