Not a city apartment but not a country house either: townhouse owners often face questions about how to create a proper layout, where to place storage systems and which style suits best. For those who are confused, we have selected interesting Russian projects – we're sure you'll like them.
1. Townhouse in Scandinavian Style
Designers from "Studio 3.14" decorated a townhouse for a young family in Scandinavian style: simple colors, natural materials, nothing excessive. All walls were painted in pastel shades and decorative stucco was added. There were no problems with furniture selection: what they couldn't find at well-known brands was custom-made according to designer Irina Legotkina's sketches.

Customers dreamed of a cozy house – the complete opposite of a city apartment. Architect Nikita Morozov and specialists from KM STUDIO took all wishes into account and decorated the townhouse in the best traditions of English homes. Neutral natural paint tones and artistic parquet with patterns were chosen for the background. The interior is adorned with paintings from the customers' antique collections, old books and art objects.

Designer Daria Vasilyova came up with a quite bold design for a townhouse in the suburbs. In one space, old St. Petersburg brick, traditional Uzbek textiles, modern designer furniture and accessories from Bali island were combined. The owners were satisfied.

A large family approached designer Elena Simkina with a request to decorate a five-story townhouse in the west of Moscow in Russian estate style. Parquet, ceramic granite and paint were chosen for finishing. The classical interior could not do without decorative moldings, gypsum cornices and ceiling outlets – traditions are traditions. The color palette is based on muted natural tones: they create a pleasant atmosphere and transform the space into a cozy "cocoon" from which it's hard to want to leave.

In a spacious townhouse in the suburbs of Novosibirsk, designer Alina Puzhak created a comfortable, functional and convenient interior for a young family. The owners were ready to experiment: thus, geometric pattern wallpapers appeared in the living room and 3D panels with intricate patterns were used in the bedroom.

Working on a project at a distance – a real test of a designer's professionalism. Daria Kharitonova skillfully handled this task and decorated a four-story townhouse in Kaliningrad. The basement floor was dedicated to household rooms, the first floor – a cozy living room with a fireplace and dining area. The second floor accommodated a parents' bedroom and office. The attic, however, is a real children's kingdom.

In a two-story townhouse with an attic, a family with a teenage son will live. The spaces are sufficient to create a comfortable interior and accommodate everything necessary – the designer Pavel Ivonin had room to "let loose". However, a question arose: where to place storage systems so they don't draw attention? The solution was found quickly – the attic was completely dedicated to a storage room, wardrobe and laundry.

8. Minimalism in a Suburban Settlement
The client set an interesting task for architect Filipp Kitzenko: to discard all unnecessary ornaments, decoration for the sake of decoration and focus on creating a cozy and minimalist interior where it's pleasant to spend time and work. The project author enthusiastically developed the idea and made a bet on connecting the interior space with a green lounge zone in the backyard using panoramic window portals.

When designer Julia Lapteva took on the work of designing a townhouse in a new Moscow district, the house could not boast of good layout and functional content. With the help of a professional, guest rooms were arranged on the first floor, the attic was dedicated to personal rooms, and the second floor would host family gatherings in a spacious kitchen-dining area. To please the owners, even roomy wardrobes and utility rooms were found for which there is rarely enough space in city apartments.

The owners of a three-story townhouse knew from the beginning what interior they wanted to get, so Marina Sarkisyan combined all their wishes. In addition to the standard set of rooms, the customers required a room for crafts and a sauna on the attic floor. As a stylistic solution, they chose Provence. The affordable furniture from IKEA fit perfectly into the setting.
