Vintage furniture, bold accents, unexpected combinations, and a strong sense of individuality — we share a ready-made recipe for coziness in a small house

Owners of this not entirely ordinary house define its style as 'modern retro.' Indeed, the interior harmoniously blends respect for traditions and contemporary design trends, classic techniques and unexpected solutions, love for bright colors and natural color palettes, bold accents, and vintage motifs. If you have a dacha or a country house, you can confidently take note of many ideas from the owners of this building.

Ann and Greg, the owners of this house, are convinced that life surrounded by nature makes people happier. That is why they decided to buy a former forester's house located under the shade of an old oak tree, to breathe new life into it.

The renovated space, however, still retains a sense of age-old charm: there is room for a wide variety of vintage furniture in the décor, and even the floor and doors seem to have seen more than one generation of inhabitants. At the same time, there is plenty of modern convenience in the interior: accessories and textiles from IKEA, all necessary appliances, bold accents.

There are also no shortages of current trends: the interior is not overloaded with details, quite eclectic (just take a look at the kitchen cabinet and chandelier above the table!), and practical. Accent wallpapers behind the headboard, various chairs in the dining set, and eco-decor – popular decorative techniques that have found their place in the setting.

It is worth noting two porches (the second entrance leads to the part of the house where the guest bedroom is located), as well as a newly added terrace attached to the former forester's house — the new owners are convinced that thanks to it, the building has acquired certain characteristics typical of modern architecture.
