Day Room: Bright and Organic Children's Playroom
Rebecca and Brian Monroe did an excellent job decorating a special playroom for their children in an unused garage space.
With the arrival of our third child, we've changed living spaces once again — Rebecca shares. — With the hope that this will be the last time we change residences at this stage of life, we approached the room design very seriously, drawing on experience from previous apartment renovations. We learned a lot from past mistakes and wanted to account for how our needs might change over time.
For the children's room, the designer’s main goal was to create a shared space for all three kids of different genders where they would feel comfortable together and be inspired to dream and create.

Looking at the finished room, I see how our children will grow in it — the mother of the family tells us. — This room is very lively and spacious thanks to the ample built-in furniture, yet its white color doesn’t strain the eyes and looks unobtrusive and refined. Naturally, it does not replace a proper children's bedroom where they sleep, but thanks to its presence, kids don’t disturb each other when doing different activities. As they grow up, this room will likely turn into a study hall where computers and other school supplies can be conveniently placed on tables.
