Modern House of the XIX Century on Tasmania Island
Don't let these two words together in one phrase confuse you. What you see here is indeed a fully modern house in the town of Hobart, located on Tasmania Island. The building simply exists since the previous century.

Architects from the studio "MG Architechts" received a very challenging and, at the same time, extremely attractive assignment to renovate a house built in the 1890s. By the way, the complex originally consisted of a small cottage and a standalone concrete house. The house is located in the historical district of Battery Point, so the architects had a task to preserve the established local architectural traditions and showcase all the possibilities of modern architecture. Local tree species were used in the cladding. The house now features a rainwater collection system. Double walls provide maximum sound insulation from the outside.
