Kitchen of the Week: Tiles Set the Mood

Today we start a cycle of new regular articles - weekly reviews of kitchen design trends.

An interesting and stylish kitchen in a classic style of a country house, which we will discuss today, found its owners in Washington. After ten years of using the old kitchen and living room with an area of about 60 square meters, the family finally decided to make radical changes, and in order for the renovated kitchen to please the eye for as long as possible, they chose to approach a professional design studio. The young parents and their wonderful twin children have a large house where everyone has their own space. However, given their lifestyle and passionate love for each other's company, there was a strong need for a large shared room where there is enough space for everyone's needs: preparing lunches, having meals, doing homework at school and relaxing.

Designer Katherine Otis highlighted the kitchen area with a standalone island that faces the common space - so that mom can most conveniently work in the kitchen and stay informed about what the children are up to. At the same time, the new kitchen had to be lively and spacious. Let's see how it was done!
