You can choose a floor covering for any room — from bedrooms and children’s rooms to kitchens, hallways, offices, or stores. Linoleum is resistant to moisture and easy to clean, while modern designs that mimic wood, stone, or concrete suit any interior style. Each batch undergoes multiple quality checks, using safe PVC as the base material. The factory has been operating in the Russian market for 18 years.
Acclimatization
Unroll the roll indoors and leave it there for 24–48 hours. During this time, the material adjusts to the temperature and humidity, straightens out, and will not develop wrinkles or gaps in the future. If the linoleum was stored at a temperature of 0 to +10 °C, at least 24 hours are required for adjustment, while if stored at a temperature below 0 °C, at least 48 hours are needed. The room temperature should be no lower than +15 °C.
Unrolling and Cutting
Lay out the material, leaving allowances of 5–10 cm at the walls.
- In areas with pipes, niches, or protrusions, make cross-cutting marks for precise fitting.
- When laying multiple sheets, align the patterns. Overlap the edges to be joined, cut both layers along the seam line with a metal ruler, and remove excess material.
Fixing
Choose the mounting method based on the space, load, and presence of seams. However, manufacturers and professionals agree that sticking linoleum is the most reliable method, even in small rooms. This ensures stability of the flooring and extends its lifespan:
- Free-lay installation—suitable for small rooms (up to 10 m²) with low foot traffic. The flooring is secured only by skirtings around the perimeter. This is the fastest method, but over time minor shifts may occur in areas with heavy use.
- Fixing with double-sided tape is a good solution for rooms up to 20 m² with moderate traffic. The tape is applied along the perimeter and at joints, and for additional security, in a “grid” pattern with a spacing of 30–50 cm. The flooring can be easily removed if necessary.
- Adhesive fixer is a modern and convenient solution for living rooms. It is applied as a thin layer onto the surface, after which the linoleum is pressed down. The fixer provides strong adhesion while still allowing the flooring to be removed and reappplied without damage if needed. It is suitable for rooms with moderate to high traffic, as well as for heated floors.
The adhesive method is the most reliable option. Apply the adhesive using a toothed spatula (with the tooth size specified in the instructions). Wait for the proper curing time so the adhesive activates, then roll out the linoleum by pressing it down and using a roller to expel air from the center toward the edges. This method is especially important when joining multiple sheets together and in areas with high foot traffic.
Ironing
After curing, bubbles often remain. Remove them with a heavy trowel, moving from the center toward the walls. You can also smooth the surface by hand using a clean towel in a back-and-forth motion: first lengthwise, then across. Pay special attention to joints and corners.
Seam finishing (if necessary)
- Cold welding— suitable for residential linoleum. The adhesive dissolves the edges and firmly fuses them into a waterproof joint. Apply painter’s tape along the joint, cut it along the line, insert the needle of the tube into the gap, and evenly press out the adhesive. Remove the tape after 10–15 minutes; full curing takes about a day. Choose the right type of adhesive: A— for tight, fresh joints, C— for gaps up to 4 mm, T— for linoleum with an insulated base.
- Hot welding— used for commercial linoleum: A PVC cord is heated and pressed into the prepared joint groove.
End
Cut away any excess material and install baseboards. Do not place heavy furniture or wash the floor for the first two days — the finish needs time to settle. After that, regular vacuuming and damp cleaning are sufficient. Avoid harsh chemicals and do not leave hot objects on the floor.
Paying attention to every step — from leveling the base to finishing the seams — is key to ensuring the durability of the flooring. With proper installation, linoleum will maintain its aesthetics and functionality for many years, and following care recommendations will help prevent premature wear and preserve its original appearance.
