Main Types of Showers for Bathroom
Want to start your day right? Take a bath! Want to end the day well? Take a bath! Showers are always present in these daily moments. That's exactly what people run to when they want to relax, recharge their energy and mood.
But for this you need to know how to choose the ideal type of shower for your home and needs. Let's take a look at some tips!
Types of Showers
In essence, there are six types of showers you can choose from depending on what you need — comfort, savings, or price-to-quality ratio. Have a look:
Standard Electric Shower

A standard electric shower is the one most commonly found in Brazilian homes. It's easy to find for sale, has quick installation and simple operation, and is one of the cheapest models. Most standard electric showers operate on 220 V voltage, although there are also models that work on 110 V.
A standard electric shower also offers the ability to adjust temperature in three positions: cold, warm and hot. But it's important to turn off the shower to avoid burning out the heating element.
Despite its good price-to-quality ratio, this type of shower may leave something to be desired in terms of design since models are simple and not very attractive. Another drawback is low water pressure. If your bathroom is located near a water tower or on the same level, taking a shower can become uncomfortable due to weak water pressure.
Electronic Shower

An electronic shower is an improved version of the classic standard electric shower. The main difference between them lies in water temperature regulation. In an electronic shower, you can precisely adjust the water temperature without having to turn off the device and without fear of getting an electric shock. This makes bathing more pleasant and safe thanks to efficient temperature control.
Installation of an electronic shower is done just like a regular one, so it remains simple and convenient. Electronic showers may even come with chromotherapy lighting or even music. But be prepared for these features to make the product more expensive.
High-Pressure Shower

A high-pressure shower is the best option for those with low water pressure in their homes. This usually happens when a water tower is located near the bathroom or at the same level. This type of shower has an integrated internal pump (pressurizer) that increases water pressure, making the flow stronger.
High-pressure showers can be found in electric and electronic versions, and with the latter option you get even more comfort and safety. But the main drawback of this type is high water consumption.
Which Shower Is Most Economical?
The most economical shower is hybrid. This model saves energy and water while providing comfort. Therefore, it becomes the most sustainable option for a shower.
But to be financially beneficial, you need to already have an installed gas or solar heating system. If you don't have such a setup and aren't planning to invest in alternative energy, choose an electric or electronic shower with the Inmetro approval mark which confirms low electricity consumption. Remember that no shower is economical by itself. The difference at the end of the month depends on residents' habits. So, if you want to save money on taking showers, reduce your shower time.
