In most cases, the kitchen interior either involves placing the sink by the window or setting up a dining table. If the topic is about a kitchen with two or even three windows, for example in a private house where space is not an issue, then you can allow yourself to decorate it with large curtains.

Kitchen design under the window depends on many factors, but a rational approach might be to connect the windowsill surface, for example, with a table or cabinet.

The most complete design of any kitchen should include several so-called zones:

  • working zone: the area for food preparation, which must accommodate at least a stove, sink, and storage space for kitchenware;
  • dining zone: the area for eating, where at minimum there should be a table and chairs;
  • passage zone: the space needed to move between the above zones.

For smaller kitchens, it is common to see designs with a window in the center as a central element. This design choice is not accidental: the window, due to its features, can function not only as an auxiliary element but also carry significant decorative load.

It is very common to have a sink near the window; in such cases, using any decor other than room plants and short curtains or blinds is unlikely. Placing the dining zone near the window appears more rational, as in this case, the aesthetically overloaded part of the kitchen space enhances the positive effect during meals.

When kitchens are arranged in rooms with panoramic windows, the kitchen no longer becomes a central element of the interior but rather serves as an addition to it.

Given the size of such windows, they are often equipped with automation—blinds or curtains move using special devices.

A kitchen-dining room with a bay window is not typical for most buildings, yet the number of its supporters is growing: many new constructions now use this architectural element. In addition to traditional blinds, the market today offers light-filtering curtains, pleated curtains, and Combo curtains that take into account the time of day. Since they are always placed along the window, they become the only decorative element for the windows in such cases.
