Best Varied Christmas Trees for Cat Owners
You've probably already started thinking about where to place your Christmas tree. Almost everyone usually chooses to put it in the living room, but when you have cats, things are different. Since cats naturally find shiny, noisy, and moving objects attractive, they find Christmas decorations irresistible. What can we do?
PinterestMost likely, you've already experienced that your Christmas tree has fallen to the floor more than once if you celebrated Christmas with a cat, especially an active one (or puppy). At worst, it might leave a thousand shattered ornaments. So can cats and Christmas trees coexist? What are the best Christmas trees for homes with cats if the answer is yes?
HOW TO PROTECT A CHRISTMAS TREE FROM CATS
PinterestThere are five ways to protect a regular Christmas tree from cats if you don't want to spend money on an individual tree.
1. Trim the lower branches of the tree with scissors, leaving only the higher ones. Your cat may still climb up the trunk, but it will be harder.
2. Place aluminum foil around the base of the tree and wrap the foil around the trunk as well. Although you might not know this, cats usually avoid surfaces made of such material because they don't like the texture.
3. Add weight to the bottom of the tree. If your cat decides to climb up, this is a great way to prevent it from falling to the ground.
4. Create a barrier around the tree. While we know this isn't the most elegant solution, it works if you don't want to give up your favorite tree.
5. The last option is hanging the Christmas tree from the ceiling. This may seem unusual and uncomfortable, but it works!
