Replacing the bathtub with a shower: what are the advantages?

Because when decorating a bathroom, it's always important to decide between these two most essential elements: the shower and the bathtub. If you don't have sufficient space or budget to afford both, you'll often have to choose one or the other. Of course, a bathtub allows you to immerse yourself in warm and relaxing water, but is it worth it? Because daily repetitive use, sometimes by a large family, can lead to huge costs for water and heating, but also take up a lot of time! The advantages of the shower over the bathtub are undeniable (see below), so between these two options, the first one undoubtedly has priority over the second. In a new building or full renovation, arguments in favor of the shower will be a matter of common sense. However, replacing the bathtub with a shower can also be seen as a targeted operation, especially because it can be completed in one or two days. Removing the bathtub and its frame takes dozens of minutes, while installing a shower cabin requires only a few hours. With an Italian-style shower, however, exposure time must be observed, which can last several days.

Of course, such a replacement also implies some repainting or tiling for overall consistency, so it's wiser to include this in a broader bathroom renovation project. But most of the work is not too complicated and not necessarily expensive. For less than 1000 euros including installation, the device can be replaced. Especially considering that this operation pays off quickly thanks to potential savings on water and heating. In a home with one bathtub for washing, such a project is justified. Because by replacing your shower with a bathtub, you not only save time and money every day but also do something for the planet by reducing water and heating consumption.

Then, obviously, the bathtub lasts much longer than a shower. On one hand, filling the bathtub takes 10 minutes and another 5 for washing, whereas a shower usually takes less than 5 minutes. Again, this may not seem like much, but on a life scale, more than 10 minutes saved each day is huge. Thus, a large family can easily reduce the use of the bathtub by half an hour in the morning, which is not insignificant during early morning hours!
