Puro Homes Project by Maria Alves-Architect
The project was developed in response to a specific program for collective housing. Located in a new district of the city of Aveiro, the plot is situated between two unfinished lots. Therefore, the idea of the project is based on highlighting a new design in this new area. The project aims to fully use the characteristics of the place, such as views and sunlight.
The proposed volume consists of a grid design that allows expanding the interior space outward and at the same time embodying the horizontal line present in this place. Its raw concrete material is aimed at emphasizing its unusual character.
Glass, besides the transparency it creates in spaces through interaction with the outside world, also gives horizontal concrete elements a sense of lightness.
The existing movement in the city center is noticeable on the facade blades. In addition to providing privacy for internal spaces as desired, they create a rhythmic shadow effect that gives the building an idea of movement and constant transformation.
Access to the building is through two main entrances. The configuration of the interior space of the house assumes placing public areas in the foreground and preserving the seclusion and privacy of private spaces.
