The PMC House is a retreat and social space project located in Ibiuna, Brazil. The main goal was to design a space that would provide the family with sufficient opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment of the stunning views of the surrounding nature.

The covered area features a large wooden pavilion made from eucalyptus GLULAM, which houses a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and wardrobe. The pavilion is supported by two main beams, while the floor covering consists of reclaimed wood and a wooden terrace made from cumaru around the pool. Large glazed sliding panels create an seamless connection with the outdoor space. Lighting design was carefully planned with indirect linear lighting installed along all perimeters above the wooden beams. The spacious design combined with natural materials creates a visually light and unobtrusive construction that blends well with the surrounding nature.

The project program involved designing a new leisure and social area for the family living in an already built house. It included a pool, solarium and covered space containing a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and wardrobe. The space needed to be as wide and open as possible to enjoy the views of the surrounding landscape.

This covered space was created as a large wooden pavilion made from eucalyptus GLULAM (laminated timber). Two main beams measuring 17 meters support the pavilion. Wood is also used in the flooring: reclaimed wood for interior floors and a wooden terrace made from cumaru around the pool. Large glazed sliding panels form the side enclosures. Since this space is actively used in the evening, lighting received special attention. Indirect linear lighting was installed along all perimeters above the wooden beams.

The spatial design is clean and simple. The construction has large dimensions but appears visually light and unobtrusive against the backdrop of nature.
