Rampath Residence by Design Dual: Minimalist Retreat for Three Generations in Jaipur
Located in one of Jaipur's most prestigious residential complexes, Rampath Residence by Design Dual redefines multi-generational living through the lens of neo-minimalism in architecture. Designed by Arjun Sara and Vaika Bansal, this 6,757 sq ft home is a thoughtfully curated hierarchy of comfort that accommodates three generations under one roof while preserving individuality and family bonds.
Vision of Multi-Generational Harmony
The central design objective was to create independent living spaces while maintaining a strong family connection. Each of the three levels features a separate two-bedroom block — with private indoor and outdoor relaxation zones, ensuring autonomy and intergenerational closeness. Two-level volumes on each floor introduce vertical visual cohesion, fostering a sense of unity within the home.
Neo-Minimalism: Simplicity with Soul
Built on the philosophy of neo-minimalism, the architecture balances clarity, balance, and intentional contrasts. The structure is defined by straight lines, sharp visual accents, and a limited material color palette that reflects emotional depth and spatial expression. The existing structure was preserved and carefully reconfigured to ensure structural integrity and a modern open plan.
Material Palette & Sculptural Elements
Materials such as brick, concrete, glass, and metal define the building's clean yet expressive form. The facade is adorned with textured exterior paint, complemented by black sheet metal details, giving it a bold industrial aesthetic. The entrance makes a sculptural impact using 60mm thick Indian black granite slabs — a distinctive element that accentuates the home's individuality.
Interiors That Breathe Calm and Character
Inside, the home employs a consistent palette of gray and white, accented with bold black touches. Patios on the first and second floors are clad in terrazzo tiles, with square geometries adding visual rhythm. Lighting plays a key role — massive two-level glazing, C-shaped glass facades, and individual 8-foot-tall fixtures create drama and warmth.
An standout feature is the metal pavilion on the second-floor terrace. Crafted from sloped metal sheets in light, airy tones, it brings a whimsical openness to the terrace and transforms it into a cozy space for contemplation or gatherings.
Designed to Withstand Time, Not Trends
Rampath Residence avoids fleeting trends in favor of timeless elegance. It is a home built with future changes in mind — designed to adapt to evolving needs of its inhabitants. With its timeless materials, emotionally intelligent layout, and visual restraint, this home achieves a rare blend of intimacy and grandeur.
