House with External Appearance by Bedaux de Brouwer Architects + i29

House with External Appearance is an impressive modern home designed in collaboration between Bedaux de Brouwer Architects and i29 Interior Design in the Netherlands. This single-story villa, spanning 4305 square feet, was thoughtfully designed to integrate interior and exterior spaces, which becomes evident the moment you step inside.

This spacious villa is designed for a family of four, allowing all rooms to be horizontally connected. The sustainable and open-plan home blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments. At the heart of the living area lies an elegant green terrace, while floor-to-ceiling sliding doors provide a seamless view of the surrounding garden and pool. Kitchen units, cabinets, and furniture are custom-made to align with the architectural vision. Together, they unite architecture and interior design into one cohesive whole.

With a minimalist design and restrained materials, Bedaux de Brouwer and i29 crafted a villa of luxury quality without pretense. The main highlight of this home is its meticulous integration of interior and exterior spaces.

Large wooden surfaces are used throughout the home to connect different zones. Cabinets, shelving, walls, sliding doors and beds are all made from the same wood with matching finishes to ensure unity and continuity.

Black brick facades conceal and reveal the natural surroundings, while large built-in planters with greenery are placed directly on the front of the building. The house is constructed for energy efficiency, incorporating a geothermal heat storage system, heat pump and solar collectors on the roof. The goal was to naturally connect interior and exterior spaces.

Paradoxically, this house offers numerous open views and transparency in its facades yet feels private and secure thanks to the refined placement of greenery. An ideal sanctuary for living both inside and outside. A restrained and clean color palette of materials creates a relaxed atmosphere of natural luxury.
