MINING Club by Cun FF

Eight hours for work, eight hours for life and eight hours for sleep — we divide time and place it in a standard routine. We strive for order, efficiency and rationality and strictly control time and emotions without making mistakes.

Attention to order, efficiency and rationality allows the capitalist economy to develop rapidly, but at the same time 'efficiency above all' has created a dilemma between life and work.

How to free yourself from all kinds of dilemmas? In Charles Taylor's 'Modernities', the concept of free and spontaneous self-definition is mentioned, meaning decisions are made independently rather than under social influence. Go choose and decide, explore yourself, discover new ways of living and strive for unusual experiences.

MINING is a bar hidden in a bustling business district. Fan Fei, designer at CUN FF, was invited to design the space. The main focus is on creating an attractive and recognizable project as well as realizing a free, fresh and fluid space.

Sound, Light and Color

Sound, light and color are three important elements in interior design. In the bar, starting with the first cocktail for guests, sound wave vibrations are transformed into light and color waves that never cease.

LED strips in the bar area use dynamic digital content to quickly enhance atmosphere and fun within the space. The decorative metal frame is illuminated by neon with a mechanical beauty of the future. Part of the main bar structure is made from glass bricks, which balance the beauty of lightness and weight and absorb neon lighting.

At the end of an interactive passage entering from the side of the bar, a laser device emits a red beam outlining the space and projecting relevant information onto the floor. At the same time, the light beam from top to bottom creates more interactive forms of interaction between guests and space.

Limited and Unlimited

The seating area has less defined spatial boundaries, with three walls each having different expressions. One is a full multifunctional LED screen wall; the second is a compact mobile and foldable rectangular block covered with metal materials and equipped with door pressure; the third is a rough stone wall offering a unique contrast between brightness and darkness, openness and closure, continuity and interruption.

The foldable wall provides more possibilities in the space. On the opposite side of the wall is a dance floor surrounded by cabin areas, forming a large open space through a continuous and unified LED wall. At the center of the space is a DJ booth, while a circular LED strip highlights the visual focal point in the space.

Under the influence of color, materials and lighting, MINING presents a mysterious and dreamy scene. When evening comes, people shed the burden of work to begin self-exploration and release suppressed emotions and energy. This is MINING — a happy place to relax.

The designer must not only visualize the brand concept in spatial design but also help create commercial speech for the brand. Making the space popular with commercial value is the starting point and foundation of retail space design.
