Facing issues with staircase placement?

This page is also available in the following languages:🇷🇺🇺🇦🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸🇵🇱🇨🇳

If you always wanted to build yourself a two-story cottage or already own one, then you understand the staircase problem better than anyone else. Not necessarily the staircase itself, but the space under it.

So much space, but how to use it – unclear. Let's take a look at it together and decide what can be done with it.

Let's start by understanding where the staircase is located. Often, it's in the living room or hallway area. In any case, this is a busy spot. The ideal option would be to create a media center. Place a plasma TV, decorate the remaining space with lighting, and add various shelves: hidden (such as secret cabinets where you can store different items) or open, on which your vases or figurines can be placed.

You could even set up a full home cinema. Place speakers, subwoofers, DVD player, microphones, headphones, of course your favorite movies on discs. All the same numerous and very convenient shelves. The simplest and most rational option is to turn the space under the staircase into a storage room or library. This is quite an interesting, yet common solution. Anyone can handle this task independently, especially if the staircase is located in a corridor or library. Passageway rooms are always more challenging and creativity here is more appropriate. Let's call this place a corridor that is far away, and you haven't reached the room yet – in other words, a hallway. Well, let's make a workspace.

How to creatively arrange a cozy nook next to the staircase?

If your family is big and noisy, there's probably no place in your house where you could work. No one would want to claim the staircase area. Take it and set it up. What do you need for working? Right, a desk, a couple of shelves, a computer, a phone, and of course a comfortable chair. Choose a color scheme for everything and place it in your newly discovered office. And let anyone tell you that it doesn’t harmonize with the interior. The space is quite beautiful and most importantly, rationally used.

Who designed this house? Why is the staircase placed so inconveniently on the kitchen? Don't get upset. Everything is just perfect. This is your personal corner, dear housewife. Here you can make shelves and place your cookbooks, boxes, jars, even a novel. Let someone smile – we housewives spend a quarter of our lives in the kitchen, so it holds our little secrets and emotions.

And finally, you can simply create a personal rest area under the staircase for everyone. Set up a lounge chair and comfortably settle in with a book after lunch to rest. If you have a window under the staircase, this option fits perfectly. The view from the window will relax, and you can even dream about the future or remember the past. Even if it's raining outside, you'll be comfortable. As you know, the sound of rain soothes, especially if you have a hot chocolate in your hands and your feet are covered with a soft warm blanket.

This is just a small attempt to show how you can use the cozy nook under the staircase, but we want to show that every corner in your home is not randomly free and possibly you just haven't seen its amazing purpose.
