Outdoor furniture is constantly exposed to various adverse factors, so it's no surprise that it requires especially careful maintenance.

1. Cushions

Fabrics used today for outdoor furniture upholstery, including cushions, are undoubtedly more resistant to external conditions. However, regular cleaning is still essential to significantly extend the lifespan of the item.

First, remove all surface dirt, then mix ¼ of cleaning agent in one liter of water. Use a soft sponge or a brush with soft bristles to gently clean the fabric. Make sure no streaks or stains remain. Dry outdoors.

A removable cover can greatly simplify maintenance—just wash it in a washing machine.

2. Woven Furniture

If your furniture is in good condition, simply wipe it with a sponge soaked in a mild water and cleaning solution. For deeply embedded dirt, gently use a small brush, then wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

If you notice the furniture is drying out, wait for a cloudy, foggy day, rinse it with a garden hose, and let it dry in the shade. However, do this no more than twice a year.

3. Teak Furniture

Clean teak furniture with an equal mix of water and cleaning solution using a brush. Perform this twice a year.

Also, always keep a specialized teak care product on hand—it not only gives wood a golden hue but also protects against rot and infestation by small insects.

4. Metal

Outdoor furniture with metal parts typically has a special protective coating. However, due to external exposure, this coating eventually wears off.

Inspect your furniture carefully every spring. If you spot rust, remove it immediately with sandpaper, then apply a new layer of paint or varnish.

Be aware that bird droppings are particularly harmful to metal finishes. Regularly check your furniture, and if needed, wipe it immediately with a damp cloth soaked in a cleaning solution.
