Room Without Windows: Fix the Layout with Clever Tricks
How to design a room without windows? Of course, the interior of such a room depends on its functional purpose: office, bedroom, kitchen, storage, or wardrobe. But there are key techniques that can help create a very cozy space.

Trick #1: Lighting
Lighting plays a crucial role in such a room, so use any available methods. It’s important that the space doesn’t feel enclosed.
You can use recessed ceiling lights and place them at equal intervals.
Distribute light evenly to avoid dark spots. This creates the sensation of natural daylight. Use spotlights in niches and recessed areas. This also makes the interior look more original.
Use floor lamps, wall sconces, and table lamps as additional lighting.

Trick #2: Fake Windows
If there are no windows, you can simulate their presence. Use mirrors divided into sections. In general, the more mirrors in such a room, the better.
There are 3D windows that create the illusion of real windows. Any solid wall can become a large panoramic window with a luxurious view of the ocean, green forest, or a meadow of wildflowers.
You can place any image under the glass of such a fake window. If you use patterned or frosted fabric instead of glass, or a stained glass with small spotlights, the room will immediately gain life and energy.

Trick #3: Additional Interior Elements
Large flat aquariums with backlighting, framed paintings with vivid images, and fake fireplaces with built-in transparent windows can serve as additional interior features.
You can achieve a realistic sense of openness using a fan built into a fake window.
Replace a window easily with full-wall photo wallpapers. An additional effect comes from a ceiling painted in a light tone, or better yet, designed to resemble a sky with white clouds.

Trick #4: Light Walls
Light-colored walls are an excellent solution for a room without windows, not necessarily white. The ceiling should be lighter than the walls. Prefer natural tones to enhance the sense of space.

Trick #5: Shiny Elements
Shiny materials such as chrome and brass work well in windowless rooms. They reflect light and create additional sources of brightness.
Use a ceiling fan as an extra accessory to prevent stale air buildup.
