Country residence Casa SJ by Luciano Kruk arquitectos is located in the coastal area of Costa Esmeralda, four hours away from Buenos Aires city in Argentina.
The building is entirely constructed from concrete with minimalist interior spaces and low maintenance requirements. Inside, two bedrooms with bathrooms and toilets are provided, along with two small rooms sharing a common bathroom. Clients also requested space for beach transport and parking.
The structure consists of two platforms connected by sloped stairs and free-standing spaces, animated by pine trees. At a small height above the entrance, one platform accommodates the common area that opens onto a terrace with a view of the golf course beyond the property. Another platform above houses the sleeping area, supported by a massive technical and storage volume. This supporting volume was minimized in an attempt to create the impression of a floating upper part of the building above the ground. A partially covered platform in a natural setting serves as parking, as requested by the clients.
Glazed bridges connecting both platforms cross the open space through a gallery surrounded by pine trees, where light enters from the roof and filters through branches. Thus, forest vitality flows into the home.
A continuous concrete band wraps around the entire structure, forming a unified complex that shields the interior from outside views while maintaining its closeness to the surrounding nature.
