The ARANZAZU project, presented by the studio Besonias Almeida, was realized in the town of Tortuguitos near Buenos Aires, Argentina. The story begins in 1968 when the area started to be planted with trees. The diversity of trees and shrubs gives the landscape a unique character and year-round scenic value.
Regarding functional needs, the house includes four bedrooms: one on the first floor with a bathroom and walk-in closet, a spacious living room with a fireplace, and an active family area including a dining room, kitchen, and cozy lounge. The project also includes a large gallery with a grill area and spaces for dining and outdoor relaxation, a swimming pool, and space for parking three cars.
Considering the characteristics of the landscape, designers concluded that housing construction must not only preserve existing trees on the site but also view vegetation as the primary and fundamental starting point of the building process.
Based on client requirements, it was decided that the first floor and adjacent semi-open spaces should be equipped with concrete partitions on the exterior side. This layout allows the house to be fully open, so each room connects both to adjacent spaces and to the surrounding environment.
