Designed by Studio Schicketanz, the house in Carmel, California, USA, is part of the prestigious residential complex Tehama, which is being built by the famous actor and director Clint Eastwood.

The strictly modernist form of the structure is softened by the use of natural materials with warm textures such as natural stone, plaster, tiger wood, and fir.

A strongly projecting cantilevered roof creates a soft shadow around the entire building. The play of light plays an important role in the project, whether it is bright spots falling on stone walls or reflections of majestic wood in the wide glass facade.

Inside, neutral tones of natural materials together with artworks placed in the house and vivid flashes of exquisite details such as an antique table or a noble gray round bathtub create a feeling of natural and refined beauty.
