Snow White Villa on the Mediterranean Sea Shore
In their project, architects of Ramón Esteve Studio drew inspiration from the unique location of the object, setting the task to highlight and enhance existing panoramic views, creating a relaxing contemplative environment that allows one to deeply feel the surrounding landscape.
The sea-facing facade is formed by several rectangular concrete volumes with fully glazed walls.
Vertical surfaces are bounded by long horizontal balconies that extend toward the sea, forming terraces adjacent to a large terrace. Their structural feature is that they do not rest on the walls but are fitted between them, creating visual tension and producing a paradoxical impression of lightness for the massive building.
The opposite — entrance — facade is sealed and opaque, protected by an automatic system of sliding shutters made from whitewashed Accoya wood.
Distinctive individuality to the house is given by the materials used in its construction. The texture of white concrete formed with wood and the texture of whitewashed wood reach such similarity that they are sometimes indistinguishable from each other, as in the side windows.
White color dominates the structure, with various shades of white present in all details of the house, distinguished only by material — whether it is concrete, wood, stone, or textile.
