This spacious 850-square-meter house is a quiet urban sanctuary located in the capital of Brazil, just 10 minutes from the National Congress. The project was designed by architects from the firm Equipe Lamas, who envisioned the house as an organic extension of the landscape of the Cerrado, the Brazilian savanna with its whimsical vegetation. The garden surrounding the villa is integrated into the building's volume, and large windows connect the interior with the landscape.
Isolated from public areas, the bedrooms provide peace and privacy for family members. All three bedrooms feature terraces and metal grids for climbing plants.
The materials used in the interior continue the color palette of the surrounding landscape: the red-brown tones of the tiled floor and polymer-coated walls echo the soil of Brazil. Wooden beams and ceilings made from Brazilian walnut enhance the sense of local identity.
Next to the terrace under the old tree, there is a rectangular pool paved with white marble from local stone and bordered by wooden decking.
To create a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere in the interior, works by many renowned designers and artists were used, including architect Samuel Lamas, Charles Eames, Jackson Pollock, and others.
