Reconstruction of the Boutique Hotel 1864 The Sea Captain's House on Santorini Island
Stunning Cave Suite room of the 1864 The Sea Captain's House boutique hotel is located in one of the largest and most luxurious houses on Santorini Island, Greece. Its design by PATSIOS is part of the complete renovation project of the hotel. Architects aimed to create an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation with a refined sense of luxury and subtle hints of elegant style characteristic of the entire hotel. The idea of simplicity and clarity, typical for local architecture, was enhanced with elements of modern design. White was chosen as the dominant color to allow natural light to spread inside the room, and to break away from the traditional cave-like appearance. Walls in one tone, built-in furniture, wooden floors, and cement screeds work together to create a minimalist and unified look. Antique interior items, old chests, as well as metal chairs and lanterns add intensity and contrast with the overall white background. Ceramics created by famous Greek artists and vintage furniture complement the room's ambiance, bringing traditional elements into play.
