House from Ruins in Portugal

Retreat House E/C arose from ruins on the island of Pico, Portugal. Studio SAMI-arquitectos designed a 214 sq meter building, integrating it into the ruined stone walls on a sloped plot. Architects provided large windows offering beautiful panoramic views of the surroundings. The interior is designed in a light color palette with many wooden elements, keeping it simple and uncluttered.
