Beautiful House in Maryland in the Style of Functionalism
The so-called Bauhaus style, close to the concept of functionalism, originated in the 1910s in Germany at the Higher School of Construction and Artistic Design. This house in the state of Maryland, USA is the perfect embodiment of the three postulates of this style – functionality, convenience, and beauty. Through large windows with black frames, plenty of light enters the house, which in combination with white finishing very advantageously highlights the best aspects of the interior. The lines and forms of the facade and interior decoration represent simple and elegant geometric shapes: rectangles, squares, ovals. The color palette is classic – white, black, gray with rare accents of bright tones. The veranda in the back yard is also very restrained; often they overload it with colors and bulky garden furniture, but here there is no such thing. An elegant outdoor fireplace complements a sofa, armchairs, and a bench; the veranda space is framed by a stone fence. The house is beautiful and minimalist both inside and out. A very interesting project!
