VenturaLab: modern apartment, studio, and showroom in a historical building

The VenturaLab project, developed by the Ventura studio, is located in Madrid, Spain. The modern apartments occupy a historical building from the XIX century. This is not just a beautiful example of black-and-white interior design, but something more like a business card. The partners of the VenturaLab studio, architect Juan Carlos Fernández and designer Reyes Castellano, presented a space for creativity and experimentation, a demonstration hall to showcase their work to future clients, and a real manifesto of their aesthetic vision. Keeping this in mind, they named it VenturaLab, and one of them actually lives in this modern and unique residence.
Black and white colors are the main contrast unifying the entire interior, softened by the use of bronze and leather. Wooden floors alternating with traditional-style tiles help create a warm atmosphere. White walls serve as a backdrop for modern, functional furniture. In the kitchen and living room, heavy, square forms of tables and shelves made from dark wood are balanced by the soft outlines of leather sofas and armchairs. The same applies to the main bedroom, where two massive black armchairs look like a natural continuation of the bed.
The portrait in the living room and the mirror in the hallway with their luxurious gilded frames bring the spirit of past centuries into the modern black-and-white interior. The overall strictness of the style is softened by extravagant lighting fixtures with additional gold accents.
