Le Atelier Architecture Studio renovated an old apartment on Pyrogovskaya Street in Moscow, responding to the client's request who spent her childhood in this flat. The young woman wanted to make her living space modern, but at the same time preserving memories of the family past.
The 59 square meter apartment includes three main areas: living room, combined with dining and kitchen, bedroom and office.
Designers consciously blurred the boundaries between restored and demolished elements, between different rooms and colors. For example, the purple color dominating in the bedroom spreads as a bright spot across the dining room floor, while emerald green crawls from the corridor walls to the kitchen cabinet and then onto the ceiling, blurring the clear separation of space.
The open ceiling plane, which was originally here, connects this new Home with memories of the past. The grid pattern on the ceiling made from white plastic pipes is repeated in the shape of chair backs, vintage armchair upholstery, and the design of white tiles, with colored grout adding a spark of wit to this simple solution.
