White Interior of an Apartment in Barcelona
White Interior of an Apartment in Barcelona
To create a home sanctuary that brings peace and harmony amid the hustle of urban life was the challenge faced by designer Suzanne Kots when developing the Urban White project in Barcelona, Spain.
The key element that makes this combination of interior and exterior particularly unique is the external fireplace, highlighted by a black frame enclosing the terrace and visually connecting it to the living room. The two spaces—indoor and outdoor—merge through a glass door that, when fully open, creates an expansive shared area.
In the living room, the designer placed a diagonal fireplace that separates the kitchen hidden inside the volume behind it. Behind the white panels, a television screen is also concealed.
One of the most distinctive areas of the apartment runs along the corridor, where wooden panels painted with white enamel paint evoke the memory of 50s paneling reinterpreted in a modern style. These are enlivened by small shelf-like pockets transformed into vases with green plants, adding a sense of freshness to the space.
The heart of the apartment houses a room designed as a primary retreat for both adults and children. Its space is formed by elements made of glass and wood, distinguished by a lighting system built into a wooden slat frame that frames the entire room.
The design of the four bedrooms is based on two materials: oak wood and white enamel paint. Their balanced combination creates a confident feeling that this is indeed the sanctuary where quiet and peace have finally found their place in Barcelona.
